ARTISTIC STATEMENT
Sara’s pictorial work stems from a deep connection with nature, drawing particular inspiration from the landscapes of Mallorca, its Mediterranean beauty and the duality between water and land. Since childhood, she has maintained a very close bond with the coast of the Serra de Tramuntana, growing up immersed in its waters, which has profoundly marked her artistic vision and her relationship with the environment. The island, with its crystal-clear waters, imposing mountains and golden beaches, becomes the starting point for her creative process. Exploring and getting to know its hidden corners has allowed her not only to admire its splendour, but also to understand its delicate fragility. Through abstract aerial views, she seeks to capture the essence of this environment, capturing the richness of its earth tones and the serenity of its infinite blues.
Each of his works is a subconscious reflection of what has marked his life experience on the island, from the cliffs of the Serra de Tramuntana to the pristine beaches of the south. He immerses himself in its landscapes, observing how the light changes throughout the day and how the breeze draws ephemeral shapes on the water. The colour palette he chooses – ochres, siennas, turquoises and blues – evokes the constant interaction between the mainland and the waters that surround it, creating a visual dialogue that invites the viewer to immerse themselves in this dreamlike landscape.
His technique varies depending on the subject: he generally uses dense textures and materials to represent the solidity and consistency of the earth, while in works centred on the sea he uses abundant flowing water, creating liquid and organic effects that evoke the movements and transparencies characteristic of the sea. This contrast reflects his fascination with how, despite their differences, earth and water coexist in a harmonious balance that he seeks to convey in each canvas.
Beyond aesthetics, her work is driven by a deep concern for climate change. The nature that inspires her also alerts her, reminding her that its beauty is ephemeral and vulnerable. Each brushstroke becomes a tribute to the natural elements that define her land and which, at the same time, are threatened by human impact. Rising temperatures, pollution, desertification and the loss of biodiversity are realities she witnesses and suffers on a daily basis, directly influencing her work, which thus becomes a form of silent activism.
He paints not only to capture the beauty of Mallorca, but also to highlight its vulnerability. Through his art, he seeks to raise awareness about the urgency of protecting the natural environment. He invites the viewer to reflect on the delicate relationship between humanity and nature, hoping that his artistic vision will serve as a bridge between admiration and action. Each work is a reminder of what can be lost, but also a call to preserve what we still have. His painting is, in essence, an act of love for nature and a cry for help in the face of its deterioration.
Following recent collaborations in the context of interior design projects, she has simultaneously embarked on a new line of research focused on the technique of collage. This artistic exploration allows her to address more minimalist themes, which integrate perfectly into spaces where calm and serenity give way to elegance. She works with the natural texture of untreated fabric, combining it with the softness and delicacy of tissue paper. Creating these works transports her back to her childhood, evoking the game of a jigsaw puzzle in which the pieces are shapes, colours and transparencies, until she finds the perfect composition. This process, guided by intuition and experimentation, allows her to discover new connections between materials, find beauty in simplicity and reaffirm her passion for the search for visual harmony.
